How to Apply

Taking applications before approving buyers for our puppies is one of the most important parts of our job as a responsible program. By asking specific questions about our buyers expectations, requirements, & non-negotiable aspects, we can narrow down their search to the puppy or puppies that are best suited for what they're looking for. Each application is personally reviewed & considered, we take our buyer's perfect match very seriously! We encourage you to be as detailed as possible on your preferences, such as personality, grooming needs, color, etc. It's important to note that we will always be forthcoming & honest; We may suggest a litter, or existing puppy that may be better suited to what you're searching for, based on the experience with our breeds. You can expect to hear back within 24 hours, guaranteed!

Please be as detailed as you can be when filling out your puppy application. We check for applications daily when we have a current litter, or when we've announced a planned litter. Otherwise, they're checked weekly.

Contact us through our contact form or send us a direct email so we can get to know you a little bit and get the application & matching process started. We'd be happy to give more details on any litter or puppy!

Before filling out an application, we encourage you to get an understanding of how we run our breeding program and how we raise our puppies. Please feel free to email us any questions that you can't find the answers to on our website!

step one: read over our website

Steps 1-3

At 7 weeks, temperament test results are sent out, & we begin to work on any fields that your pup may need to work on. At this time, training will intensify, & all of the fun & interactive updates start! Local adopters are invited to schedule a Puppy Play Date to start getting to know & make memories with their pups until they go home at 12 weeks!

step six: selection time

This is the hard part, haha! We will keep you updated with litter news or developments. After the puppies are born, we will notify all of the paid slot waitlist families first, then the unpaid slot waitlist families before publicly announcing the birth. From then, we send you weekly updates and pictures of your forever pup!

step five: patience + puppy prep

Once your application has been approved, we offer the opportunity to place a non-refundable $500 deposit on the litter or puppy you're hoping to get. This step is completely optional, & you can choose to be added to the waiting list without the deposit. However, please be advised that even if you've been added to the waiting list, the paid slots will be matched to their pup first, & the slots may be reserved before you get the opportunity to find your perfect puppy.

We're very proud to have found a way to offer payment plans to our possible adopting families, & therefore opening the option to many more families hoping to get one of our puppies. At this time, Klarna can be used only though our Good Dog payment portal. Additionally Pay in 4 through PayPal can also be used (to approved buyers).

Flexible Payment Options

Typically, a lot of our adopting families choose to wait until they pick up their new puppy to pay the remaining balance. Smaller payments leading up to the pickup date can be accepted, for the remaining amount to be paid upon pickup. Detailed payment summaries are sent after each new payment.

Payment upon pickup

Once your puppy application is approved & the puppy contract signed, you will have the opportunity to place a non-refundable deposit of $500 to join our Puppy Paper House waiting list, or to reserve an existing puppy of your choosing. This is the only way to claim a puppy as yours, otherwise any & every puppy will be advertised until they find their perfect family!

When aiming to produce the best possible companions, the resources, time, & skill, amongst many others factors play a large role in our pricing model. Despite the price tag on our puppies, we're inviting potential adopters of every budget alike to consider our pricing options to find the best option for them before making the investment in their forever companion!
Our prices are never negotiable; However, we're always willing to work on crafting a customized, manageable plan for our adopting families to take home the puppy of their dreams. If you can't find the right option for you, please ask!

Puppy Paper House Pricing

Selection time will always respect the waiting list/inquiry order. Unfortunately, we will not permit puppy adopters to choose a puppy that's been reserved, or switch the puppy that they've chosen out. As a courtesy, in special cases, we may allow families that have reserved a pup to transfer the deposit to another puppy that's available only once.

03: selection time

Depending on when you've reserved your pup, it's likely that there will be a couple of weeks left until they're ready to go home. This is the trickiest part of the puppy adoption process, as there's lots of waiting involved. Durning the weeks leading up to receiving your puppy, we aim to send photos, videos, or updates biweekly to keep you involved in the growth of your pup. Local adopters may be offered opportunities to spend time with their pups by appointment slot. Feel free to ask!

02: waiting period

Once your application is approved, we'll send over the puppy contract along with the spay/neuter contract, with all the relevant information on the pup you're wanting to reserve (tag name, color, sire & dam, price, etc.). We do require that you send back a signed copy before sending over the deposit invoice to reserve your baby. This is the moment to ask any questions about the contract itself.

Under specific circumstances, we may personally meet adopters up to 2 hours outside or Dallas for an additional charge. Feel free to ask us about getting your baby delivered to a nearby town or city!

For our adopters flying in to pick up their pup, no additional traveling is necessary. We'll happily meet with a nanny or adopter themselves at any of the airports in Dallas (DFW/DAL). Additionally, we cater to out of state buyers. We usually aim to fly with our puppies ourselves, but when its not possible, we work with an amazing flight nanny, Traci. If you are an out of state buyer, you can request additional shipping info.

All of our pick ups are done at a nearby police station, & are all by schedule time slot. Since we typically have whole litters that have been reserved from early on, the most organized way to get all the puppies where they need to be is by appointment. A few weeks before pick up, we'll send a schedule where our adopting families can pick the most convenient time for them!

After all the waiting, puppy pick up day is undoubtedly the most exciting! To make sure the process remains exciting & efficient, we begin coordinating the pick up or drop off date a few weeks in advanced!
