FAQ

How often do you have litters?

The Puppy Paper House program doesn't have a set turn around time for litters, nor do we ever guarantee when puppies could be available. We closely monitor each of our girls to make sure that they're healthy & sound enough to carry a pregnancy, so unless a girl is in her most optimal condition, we don not breed them. However, our average has proven to be 2-3 Imperial ShihTzu litters annually, & 1-2 French Bulldog litters annually. You can apply for any litter(s) at any time.

what do you feed your dogs + puppies?

Our adult dogs are fed Nature's Domain kibble diet daily. This kibble makes up about 50% of their diet, however, they also have daily home cooked meals. Combinations of beef, fish, & chicken, along with seasonal fruits & veggies are supplementally added. When cooking is not possible, we use We Feed Raw meals as toppers. Due to an amazing partnership, we're able to offer discounted subscriptions to our puppy adopters!

how long is the wait for a puppy?

When an upcoming breeding is announced,  it'll typically be around 2-3 months before puppies are born. Once the litter birth is announced, depending on when you've reserved your pup, it'll be several weeks before they're able to go home. All of our puppies stay an average of 9-10 weeks. We'll never accept a deposit if there's a longer than 6 month waiting time for a litter, but we will notify our waitlist families & inquirers as soon as we enter the confirmed waiting period!

is the deposit to secure a puppy refundable?

All of our deposits are absolutely non-refundable, as is made clear before our adopting families make the decision to reserve a pup with us. Once a deposit is made, that amount is deducted from the final puppy price. The deposit is only valid for the puppy they originally asked about. We will unfortunately not transfer the deposit, even to an available puppy within the same litter. Exceptions may be made if there is a reason for the family not being able to take the puppy they'd reserved in that moment. We may allow a transfer to a future litter (already born or within the 6 month waiting period). We only allow the deposit to be transferred ONCE, & a new puppy contract will be sent out to be signed, & the prior puppy contract void.

do you sell puppies with breeding rights?

ALL of our pups are sold exclusively to pet homes, & on a strict one year spay/neuter contract. This is an absolute non-negotiable for the general public, & will not be waived at all. The only time we may consider selling full rights is to show ring handlers, or highly vetted, reputable programs (if they meet a certain criteria). If you're interested in full rights for a pup, you can request a special application specific for full rights prospects. We'll review the application, & reply back within 24 hours. If the application is not approved, we'll also notify the applicant & send back the limited rights puppy application.
